Edward Hopper - City Roofs

Edward Hopper’s depiction of the 1932 New York skyline is one of the most meditative and warm of his paintings. Painted in 1932, the piece captures the light and shade of a warm, glowing evening. Paintings like the watercolor City Roofs (1932) show Hopper’s fascination with the city views visible from his windows and his rooftop.
